How to Make a Movie Night with Friends COVID-Safe and Comfy
With video streaming services like Netflix becoming the go-to for many, people now prefer to stay at home and watch movies with family and friends. On top of that, in 2020, because of global pandemic-induced theatre closure, there was a 72% decrease in the global box office market, yet a 31% increase in the global digital/mobile entertainment market. With COVID-19 variants still causing risks and more people watching movies at home, we at Bedsure Home have ways to make this experience safe and comfortable for you, your family and friends. Whether going for an outdoor or indoor movie theatre experience, Here are some simple ways to make a social movie night at home comfortable, COVID-safe and fun.

1 Decide whether you will all be outside or inside
Summer is a great time to get outside and recreate the outdoor cinema experience in the comfort of your own backyard. Checking the weather forecast the day before – and always having a Plan B, will help to ensure you and your friends have a great night.
Regardless, it’s best to find an area or room with plenty of space for you and your family and friends, plus furniture. This will allow you, your friends and/or family to physically distance while still being close enough to chat.

2 Find the right tech with the right quality
A part of the reason why people love going to the movies are because of the high-definition video and sound quality. With advances in home entertainment systems, there are plenty of options to choose from. For inside, a TV screen and other equipment can easily be plugged in. For outside, a movie projector and screen are just a few of the things that you’ll need for a comfy, cinematic experience.
Outside or inside, just be sure to test and check your equipment before the movie starts. Also, while we love to get engrossed with a movie theatre-level of sound, it’s smart to consider your neighbors who might have other plans, and adjust the volume accordingly.

3 Prepare your food and snacks well
We all love popcorn and a drink or snack at the movie theatre, so why not indulge a little at home!
Do you want everyone to eat a meal or just have snacks? Will you cater for your guests or keep it pot-luck style, with people bringing dinner to share or snacks? These are some of the questions to consider when planning for your movie night.
Before preparing or cooking food or snacks, be sure to put on face mask, wash your hands with soap (or disinfect) and clean food surfaces, serving spoons etc. Also, consider whether anyone has any food allergies or food needs, then prep your snacks accordingly. This will ensure that everyone is safe and can really enjoy and dig into the food without any worry.

4 Help everyone feel comfy
There’s nothing worse than going to an event and not having enough chairs and cushions, or being in a too-small, cramped room. To help your family and friends relax and chill, make sure you have some extra chairs, benches and sofas to sit on, if you go for the inside option.
If outside, blankets and pillows make for a really comfy and cozy movie experience. Make sure that you have enough for everyone, and consider if any kids, babies or grandparents are coming. Extra soft and comfy blanket options for them include the Bedsure Flannel Fleece Blanket, Bamboo and Cotton Waffle Weave Blanket and Chenille Blanket. The 100% microfiber Flannel Fleece Blanket has a plush, smooth feel, the Bamboo and Cotton Waffle Weave Blanket has a soft, patterned feel, whereas the Chenille Blanket has a lightweight, airy feel.
If it’s a ridiculously hot night and you or your friends want to feel wrapped up in something comfortable, a Cooling Blanket can be just the thing. This blanket has a really “cool” (pun intended) innovative technology and a reversible design, which provides cooling on one side and a slightly warmer, skin-friendly feeling on the other side. On a blistering hot night, the cool side of the blanket will help to release body heat. As the outside temperature starts to drop, you can turn over the Cooling Blanket and enjoy the extra comfort and warmth of cotton.
Besides chair cushions, blankets can help everyone feel relaxed and comfy. These tips can help you, your family and friends stay safe, have fun and get cozy during a movie night.
