Washed Cotton Duvet Cover Set

This is truly lovely fabric. Very soft. I got the natural color. It is off white. Order bright white for cool toned linens. I washed it as directed and it came out well. The shams are generously sized in the oversized king pkg. Happy customer!!

I recently received this duvet cover, but haven't washed it yet, so this review is based on my first impressions fresh out of the bag. It's well-constructed and the fabric is a quality OEKO Tex cotton that's light to the hand, but not thin and transparent. I would still put a white comforter inside, as a colored comforter could show through. The design is plain and simple. Zipper closure on the duvet, inside ties and envelope shams with a 2-inch flange. I bought white. It's a basic soft white, not a bright white and the fabric doesn't have any underlying hues of yellow or beige, which can be an issue when working with other colors in a room. There's no unpleasant odor in the fabric. If anything, it has the fresh smell of unwashed cotton. It's a little stiff right out of the bag, but it will soften up after a wash and provide that cool breathability that only cotton can. It will definitely wrinkle, but that's cotton. For the price, it's a solid buy. My only complaint is that it was shipped in the same packaging it's sold in on the shelves at the store. No protection. Mine arrived with a weird glob of gunk stuck on it. Thankfully, the bag wasn't torn and the weird gunk didn't get inside. Still, it wasn't a good first impression. I gave it 4 stars because although this is not a high-end duvet, it's a good product worthy of a curated presentation -- in a box with a ribbon around the product and a small note card from the manufacturer.
