This is a very soft duvet cover. Is it as soft as our expensive covers? No. But! I would say it exceeds expectation in softness for the price point. The ties are well-sewn and it was very easy to fit it over the duvet insert. It has a nice thickness and came out entirely free of wrinkles. Now, with that said, let me say this. I didn’t just wash and dry it. There’s a method to my madness. A few years ago we went on a trip to Europe. We came back with a bedbug. One. Or, at least, I never saw more than one. The exterminator also never found one aside from the dead one I showed him. However, that one was a force of singular destruction. It bit me dozens of times in the three days it took me to figure out what was happening. I’d never experienced bedbugs before, so it took some research. Because I have zero chill when it comes to bugs, we threw out everything in the bedroom. Spent 3K on a full home treatment. Steamed every piece of furniture and carpet in the house. Every pillow, blanket, piece of clothing, etc. went through high heat cycles twice before being washed and then dried on high heat. Books went into deep freeze for two weeks. When I say we lived in a state of constant upheaval for six months, it’s not hyperbole. I told my husband if it ever happened again, I would have no choice but to abandon the house. So, for that reason, NOTHING soft-sided comes in this house without being steamed, deep frozen, or going through three steam refresh cycles in the dryer, being washed,…

When I first receive it I thought the fabric was very thin but once I put it over my king bedspread, it looked and felt so beautiful! It's soft and elegant and just perfect. Both sides are beautiful but I started with the grey.
