Diamond Texture Cooling Blanket

This blanket feels like having nothing on you, which is exactly what I wanted for the summer! It's not labeled as a cooling blanket, but you would think it was one with how cold it keeps you. The color is perfect and the material is nice and soft. However, if you're looking for a blanket that will keep you warm, this isn't it.

I like this blanket a lot. The material is soft, has a nice texture, and the feels good against the skin. It's the kind of blanket you'll actually want to use. One thing buyers should know going in: it's very lightweight. For me that's a plus — I run warm and don't want anything heavy on me at night. But if you're picturing a substantial blanket with some heft to it, this isn't that. It's more like a smooth, cool top layer than a serious cover. If you sleep cold or want something to weigh you down a bit, look elsewhere. I've only used it a few weeks, but so far it seems to hold up well. For its intended job — staying cool, light, and comfortable — it does exactly what it's supposed to. Not much else to say. Sometimes a product is just well-executed for what it is, and this is one of those.

The photos did not capture the color, which is a little bit warmer and has more green in it. After I opened it, I found a little card in there, encouraging me to keep it away from family pets because it was subject to snags. Oops! Too late. It did end up with a small snag in it, but I smooth it out with my thumb and it was immediately pulled back into the weave. I can’t speak to how durable it is at this point, but that’s a promising sign. It hasn’t been warm enough here yet to try out the cooling properties, but it will be nice to have this summer when it gets hot. I don’t know why it is that it feels better to sleep with something over you even in hot weather, but it does. It feels like it’s got that weight to it that makes it more reassuringly embracing. Meanwhile, I can say that it has a lovely quality to it, something timeless about it. The texture is more that of old, often washedcotton. It wasn’t clear in the product page how it felt, but it’s not a cashmere kind of feel to it, more that feeling of old-fashioned sheets off of a clothesline. I had planned on using this as a throw on the couch, but given the fact that it’s not very pet friendly, it will probably be reserved as a guest room throw.
