Very soft and warm
The velvet texture is extremely soft and feels luxurious. I have a king-sized mattress that is 16" thick on a platform, and this covers it with ease. After my test fit, I placed it in the dryer on a warm setting, and all the wrinkles were removed. Very happy with this quilt. The fit and quality of this quilt are excellent.

Looks luxurious and covers a king bed beautifully
This quilt looks really expensive and has a good weight to it without going into weighted blanket territory. It covers my entire king bed with room to spare which I appreciate because there is nothing worse than a comforter that barely reaches the edges. The texture is beautiful, velvety in appearance but silkier than true velvet. It photographs well and gives my bed a polished look. That said it is on the thinner side and is not what I would call plush or cozy. It will keep you warm but it is not the kind of blanket you want to sink into on a cold night. Think more refined and decorative than snuggly. One practical note if you go with the brown, snags show up easily on this fabric so I would be mindful of jewelry, rough surfaces, or anything that might catch on it.

4/5 stars for me. 5/5 stars for most normal people
I expected this to be a little...puffier. Its not that, but that doesn't make it bad. It different than the big poofy down comforters that i picture just flopping down onto. But its soft and its warm. Truthfully im growing to appreciate it more than those down comforters because it looks good on the bed, and it doesn't take up nearly as much space in the linen closet. I cant give it 5 stars, because its always the last comforter that I own in my rotation, but i think thats just a personal preference thing, and every time I have it on the bed, I wonder why its my last choice. 4/5 stars for me. 5/5 stars for most normal people.
